ShaftDefinition-IdlerAnalyst

This section is used to define the shaft tubing within the roll. Each input/output is described below:

Shaft ID at Bearing – This is the inner diameter of the shaft tube at the bearings.

Shaft OD Between Bearings – This is the outer diameter of the shaft tube within the roll, in between the bearings. This should be equal to, or larger than, the bearing bore.

Shaft ID between Bearings – This is the inner diameter of the shaft tube between the bearings

Bearing CL to Shaft Step Distance – This is the distance from the bearing center line to the potential point in which the shaft tube outer diameter starts to get larger between the bearings.

Shaft Material Elastic Modulus – This is the elastic modulus of the material used to make the shaft.

Bearing Inset – is the distance from the edge of the roll to the bearing centerline

Shaft Support Outset – This is dimension “a” shown in the drawing below:

Shaft Deflection at Left Bearing – This is the misalignment of the bearing due to shaft deflection at the left bearing

Shaft Deflection at Right Bearing – This is the misalignment of the bearing due to shaft deflection at the right bearing.
