Important Belt Analyst Inputs

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The highlighted section below shows the important outputs from the calculation of the idler set that can be transferred into Belt Analyst to give an accurate calculation for how the idler set designed/calculated within Idler Analyst will affect the system of components that make up the conveyor as calculated within Belt Analyst.

ImportBAInputs-IdlerAnalyst

This is the most important output from Idler Analyst. For the user to understand the effects of the idler set analyzed within Idler Analyst on the Belt Analyst calculation, the user must manually input the data shown in this table into the custom idler set inputs within Belt Analyst.

A description of these outputs is as follows:

Idler Set Rating – this is the rating of the idler set. Idler Analyst evaluates all rolls based upon the input capacity and belt weight and then calculates the percentage of the overall load that each bearing supports. Idler analyst then uses that load to bearing distribution and calculates the load at which the bearing most likely to fail (the bearing with the lowest life at the input capacity) when it reaches its design life.

Rotating Weight – This is the estimated rotating mass of the entire idler set based upon input data.

Seal Drag - Avg Per Roll (kis) – This is the estimated average seal drag for a roll on the idler set as defined by the CEMA universal calculation method.

Speed Factor - Avg Per Roll (kiv) – This is the estimated average speed factor for a roll on the idler set as defined by the CEMA universal calculation method. This defines how the drag on an idler roll increases as the speed increases.

Load Factor - Avg Per Roll (Ciw) – This is the estimated average load factor for a roll on the idler set as defined by the CEMA universal calculation method. This defines how the drag on an idler roll increases as the load increases.
